Interactive Adoption Experience
These story cards were designed to create a more personal and engaging adoption experience at rescue events. Each card introduces a dog through personality, lifestyle, and key details, helping visitors connect with each Pom in a simple and memorable way before adoption even begins.
The Path To A Forever Home
This capstone project focuses on creating stronger connections between adoptable Pomeranians and potential adopters through thoughtful branding, print design, and in-person adoption experiences for OC Pom Rescue.
By redesigning key touchpoints like dog story cards, adoption materials, brochures, stickers, and event visuals, the goal was to make the adoption process feel more engaging, approachable, and memorable while helping each dog find the right forever home.
This project highlights how design can support rescue organizations by creating meaningful first impressions and turning first meetings into lasting connections.
Meet the Dog Before Adoption
These story cards were created to help adopters learn about each dog beyond just appearance. By sharing personality, lifestyle, habits, and care needs, the cards make it easier for visitors to connect with the right Pom and feel more confident in the adoption process.
My Process
This project started by understanding the rescue’s mission, the adoption experience, and where design could create stronger connections between dogs and adopters. Every step focused on making the process feel more personal, clear, and engaging for both the rescue team and future pet owners.
Creative BriefThe project began with identifying the main challenges within the adoption process, from limited event engagement to helping adopters better understand each dog’s personality. The goal was to create a cohesive brand system that improved communication, trust, and connection.
Logo ExplorationLogo development started with sketching multiple concepts that reflected a clean, minimal, and welcoming identity for OC Pom Rescue. The focus was creating something coastal, modern, and approachable while still feeling connected to dogs and rescue work.
Refinement and SelectionAfter critique and feedback, the strongest logo directions were refined digitally in black and white before moving into the final mark. This stage helped create a balanced identity system that felt professional, memorable, and flexible across print and digital use.
Visual Direction
Mood boards were created to define the visual tone of OC Pom Rescue, focusing on a clean, coastal, and gender-neutral aesthetic. Color palette, typography, and supporting graphics were chosen to create a warm and approachable identity that felt both modern and trustworthy.
Brand SystemA full brand system was developed to support both digital and in-person adoption experiences. This included social media templates, educational materials, brochures, event signage, and adoption resources that created consistency across every touchpoint.
Brand ApplicationThe identity was applied across real rescue events through interactive story cards, peel-to-meet postcards, adoption kits, and event displays. These pieces helped strengthen engagement, improve communication, and create a more memorable adoption experience for visitors.
